Children programs and events
What's Cool in Nonfiction?
Read a book from this display, located in the children's section next to the new junior fiction shelf, and receive prizes after 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Record the books you've read at the librarian's desk. Themes change every month!
Do you like to create, design, and explore? Join me after school every Monday from 3:15pm-4:15pm. We will have different activities and crafts to create. This is open to school aged children.
We have reading programs during the summer and winter to help keep children reading all year round.
Children, ages birth to 5 years, are invited to attend Story Hour. Children will enjoy a story and craft.
We meet every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30am. September-April.
1000 Books Before Kindergarten
Register at the Children's Library Desk and receive your 1,000 books bag and reading log. Every 100 books, return your reading log to the Children's Library Desk to claim your reading reward.
Free Books for Newborns
The friends of the El Paso District Library have started a program to give newborn babies a free book. Come to the library if you have a new baby and we can set you up!
Only Game Club and Midweek Knitting has started up again. We don't have a timeline for when the others will start up. If you would like to help start them up or have another club that you would like to see, please contact the library.
Our group is called Lost Marbles and this club is for those who wish to play wholesome games with other adults in a non-competitive environment.
We meet on the 1st Friday of every month at 1pm.
Midweek Knitting is a group that comes every Wednesday or Thursday from 1pm to 3pm. If you would like to join, please call the library so we can let you know what day they are coming that week.
RIOT ACT is our book club. The name stands for 'Readers In Our Town Are Coming Together'.
We meet on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7pm at the library.
Each month we pick a theme from the A to Z World Foods link, a cookbook or another source and bring it to the next meeting.
Please let the library know if you are interested in joining!
This is a time to visit, support and possibly inspire others with any craft you are working on.
Craft night is the 1st Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm.
