Wild Time at the Library!

Our last story time for the season was held April 23 at the library.  We read, sang, and played guessing games about wild animals.  We finished up the time by making puppets.  We had 2 lions, a zebra, and an elephant. WILD!

Spring Into Books

We were happy to have some older brothers and sisters join us today for story hour!  We had fun singing about spring, hearing spring-time stories, and making an adorable hatching duck (Like Little Quack).

Horsin’ Around

We had a good time singing and acting out cowboy songs and finger plays, hearing a story, and making a horse to take home.  We invite all children 2 1/2 to 5 to join us!  Not 2 1/2 yet?  Join us each 3rd Tuesday at 9:30 for Lap Sitters Story Hour.

We Had a Ball!

The Lapsitters story time was all about balls.  Each participant got to take home a soft ball to roll around and play with!

Merry Preschool Christmas!

Children helped sing and act out several Christmas stories, and then did crafts during our Preschool and Lapsitters story times in December. The preschool group watched as snowflakes appeared when they rubbed crayons over a paper.  The snowflakes were made with candy canes, Santas, and other Christmas symbols. The Lapsitters decorated trees with fruit-flavored O cereal.  It is hard to say which they [...]

Thanks For Books!

We had a wonderful time reading Thanksgiving stories and making turkeys for our preschool story hour in the beginning of November.  Several of the children opt to attend both our preschool and lap sitters. We read and sang Mrs. Griffith’s favorite Thanksgiving book; “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie”-  the kids helped with several repeating parts of the story, especially [...]

Preschoolers “Batty” For Books

Our late October story hour was  all about bats!  We had songs and books as we ‘hung around’ together!  Each child made a cute bat puppet to take home after the stories were read.

Colors!

We had a colorful day during lapsitters story time in October!  We read a story about a dog who gets different colored spots on him during his day.  We sang a song about the colors of the rainbow, and made a rainbow.

Fall’ Into Good Books!

Colorful leaves, scarecrows, and all things fall!  That was the theme of our stories for story hour October 9th.  We finished our story and song time with a fall leaf craft.

Looking Up !!

Our 2nd story hour of September was about things in the sky.  We had stories about clouds, balloons, rainbows, and other things from the sky.  The children painted clouds that looked like…… all sorts of things!  Each month on the  2nd and 4th Tuesday the library has free story times for children 2 1/2 — 5.  We begin at 9:30, and usually are done by 10:30.  Please join us.  [...]
