One of the activities their teachers have planned is a visit to our library to hear a presentation and see some of the books first-hand. Denise Fleming uses Pulp Painting to create her vibrant art. The lapsitters enjoyed hearing lots of animal sounds, including the polar bear as we enjoyed Eric Carle’s illustrations to Bill Martin Jr.’s Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? We acted like little polar bears, then made a fluffy polar bear to take home. The social interaction is great…. for the kids, too!

Molly listend to 17 children read to her during our “Dog-Gone Reading Fun” day Tuesday, January 17th. There were preschoolers up to 4th graders taking turns reading to Molly and having her perform a trick for a doggie treat. While the children waited for their turn, they colored and had Scooby Snacks. Molly will return to the library in March.

Molly will be at the library January 17th after school to read with YOU! Anyone who wants to is invited to come have a dog-gone good snack and read with Molly. Molly is certified as a reading dog and loves to show you her tricks (for a treat, of course). Her owner, Mr. Miller, enjoys reading with you, too. Come join in the fun right after school until 5:00.

Mrs. Martin’s class visited the library while they were studying the letter ‘B’. Mrs. Griffith. We read a poem, sang a song, and heard two great stories about BUBBLES! Mrs. Griffith also gave each child a “Bubbles Everywhere” book to read to 3 people and return to the class. Happy Reading!

The preschoolers were wondering where all the snow was on this January day, but we made a little with the stories we chose to read and tell. After the stories, the children made their parents’ handprint into 5 snowmen, stamped giant snowflakes, and looked for objects hidden in a snowy picture.

Congratulations to both teams, [...]
