Those who attended the showing of our newest ‘buddies’ movie enjoyed it very much.  The participants were given Scooby Snacks as the  movie began and, about halfway through, each was given a Treasure milk chocolate treat.  The movie is now available for checkout.

Don’t miss the display case this month!   It contains a thimble collection by Joan Schmidt.   It also contains an antique valentine collection from Marie Bogner.

The El Paso Public Library is seeking children to come in after school February 15th to vote in the “We Hear You America” contest.  Those children who vote 20 times for El Paso here at the library will receive a ‘Hug’ and a ‘Kiss’ from children’s librarian Renee Griffith. A fun night of voting, fellowship, and prizes is planned for February 13th.  The El Paso Dairy Queen is allowing access  to their Wi-Fi for one night only.  Come out between 6-9 Monday night to meet with friends, get a DQ treat or supper, and VOTE VOTE VOTE!  Bring your laptop if you have one.  Games and prizes are being planned, so why not join in? January is children’s author Denise Fleming’s birthday.  The 4th grade classes from Centennial have been learning about an author a month.  One of the activities their teachers have planned is a visit to our library to hear a presentation and see some of the books first-hand.  Denise Fleming uses Pulp Painting to create her vibrant art.  To give the class an idea of what the process [...]

Molly listend to 17 children read to her during our “Dog-Gone Reading Fun” day Tuesday, January 17th.  There were preschoolers up to 4th graders taking turns reading to Molly and having her perform a trick for a doggie treat.  While the children waited for their turn, they colored and had Scooby Snacks.  Molly will return to the library in March.         

Molly will be at the library January 17th after school to read with YOU!  Anyone who wants to is invited to come have a dog-gone good snack and read with Molly.  Molly is certified as a reading dog and loves to show you her tricks (for a treat, of course).  Her owner, Mr. Miller, enjoys reading with you, too.  Come join in the fun right after school until 5:00.

The Reed team came in 2nd place at the Wii Pictionary Tournament held at the library over Christmas break.  They had some good artists and some good thinkers on their team! The Vest/Martin team won the trophies by squeeking by the Reed team in the finals game of the tournament.  Thier combination of artistry and thinking outside the box helped them pull of the victory.
