Elleke talked about her childhood in Holland when the Nazis invaded. Her family was not Jewish but her father did work with the resistance. She told a story about not having bread to eat during the war and how much it meant to her family when bread was dropped from the sky by the Red Cross. She also talked about realizing all the sacrifices her parents had made for them and for others, too.
There were nineteen people in the audience and I think everyone was very moved by the stories they heard. Thank you to these two brave ladies for telling us their stories.
