Children's Book Week is celebrated May 1st through May 7th. The theme this year is 'Every Child A Reader'. Children’s Book Week is the annual celebration of books for young people and the joy of reading. Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores, homes — wherever young readers and books connect!
Activities at the library that kids can come and do at the library anytime during the week include:
Monday, May 1st, 'May Day' - 6 pm - Crochet Club
Tuesday, May 2nd - 5:30 pm - Adult Coloring
Thursday, May 4th - 3:15 pm - Star Wars Party for
school- aged children
Saturday, May 6th - 10 am to Noon -
Friends of the El Paso Library fundraiser at the library
featuring Shop Lularoe

- Creating a bookmark for the Summer Reading Program!
- Voting for the children's and teen's choice book awards!
- Signing up for Summer Reading!
- Adding to our Read & Color display!
