Jerry Eicher held a question and answer session at the library Tuesday evening. He was born to an Amish family in Canada and lived there until he was 8 years old. The family moved to South America and he lived there until age 16. He eventually left the Amish faith, but continues to write about it.
Mr. Eicher was very modest about his writing career and also very honest about the world of writers and publishing. He answered questions about his time in South America, the Amish faith, and many about the writing process. How refreshing it was to meet Jerry Eicher!
Mrs. Eicher won the drawing for a gift certificate to Java Eats 'n Sweets so we hope to see them again in El Paso, Illinois!
The library has several of Mr. Eicher's books and we hope that we can interest some people who have never read them to check them out. Just ask a librarian for help finding them.
