On Thursday, March 30th Kent McCanless of Woodford County Emergency Services will be at the library at 6 pm to talk to the public about the Care Trak System. The Care Trak System is designed to assist Emergency Service in locating at risk individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, Autism, Down's Syndrome, and traumatic brain injuries. In the event these individuals wander away, they can easily be located.
The system consists of a watch-like tracking band worn by the at risk individual and a Hand held telemetry tracking antenna using radio waves. Emergency Responders on the ground or in the air track the individual and typically they are found within 30 minutes.
If you are interested in learning about this system, please register at the front desk of the library, call the library at 527-4360, or register on our website.
