There are quite a few books on the market to help a person get through difficult times but not so many that address how to help a friend get through difficult times. A local El Paso citizen, Debbie Hand has written a book to fill this niche. This is a very personal subject for Debbie. In her own life, she has overcome many of her own personal health issues. She discovered the joy that sharing her personal experiences with new cancer patients brought her. She was inspired to go back to college and get a degree in social work. Along the way, more health issues came up. Debbie certainly writes from first-hand knowledge of how important friends, family, and faith can be in difficult times.
Debbiewill be at the library Tuesday, December 1st from 5 pm to 7 pm and also on Wednesday, December 2nd from 2 pm to 4 pm. Please tell your friends and family about this special event. A Festival of Wreaths is a new addition to the Kiddie Bazaar this year. There literally is something for everyone at the Kiddie Bazaar. The Kiddie Bazaar is sponsored by the Friends of the El Paso Library and all proceeds are donated to the El Paso Public Library of El Paso, Illinois. In addition to the library events, events will be going on all over town as part of the El Paso Christmas Walk so that you can spend the whole morning browsing around in El Paso, Illinois! This month patrons can bring in food donations to the El Paso Food Pantry to pay their overdue fees. We leave this at the patron's discretion but we hope that patrons will try to bring enough of a donation to cover their overdue fees. You can also bring in food if you would just like to make a donation to the El Paso Food Pantry! Let's try to give a huge donation this year to the El Paso Food Pantry!
