The March series written by John Lewis is an excellent way for tweens, young adults, and even adults to learn about the Civil Rights era. We have some books that tell a bit about him for younger readers. And 'Profiles in Courage for Our Time' also has a chapter about him for adult readers.
And for adults, "How to be an AntiRacist'' by Ibram K. Kendi. Just a reminder - We are open for appointments on Saturdays. You can make a 30 minute appointment for either 11 am or Noon to come in and browse the shelves or use the computer.
If your children missed Lyssa's story time videos, you can see them anytime from our website. Go to the main page and scroll down to the Summer Reading Videos button. If you press that and scroll down a bit, you should see a list of each week's video.
We are quarantining all returned items for 3-4 days or possibly longer with the weekend. We do not process them at all before they are quarantined. They are taken to the basement and left to sit for the quarantine period.
Because of this, you may get an overdue notice from our system via email or text, that you have an overdue item(s) when you know that you recently returned them. Please wait a few days and see if it clears off your account when the quarantine period is over. We know this is a confusing time so we thank you for your patience and understanding. |
