Someone recently checked out the movie, Never Let Me Go and accidentally returned their own copy of The Equalizer in the case for our movie, Never Let Me Go. If you think you might be that someone, could you come to the library and we'll make an exchange!
RIOT ACT will meet to discuss the book, When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi this Thursday at 7 pm at the library.
Please bring in your donations to the El Paso Food Pantry this last week in March! We could use your help in giving a large donation to our local food pantry to help our neighbors in need.
It is also the last week for Food for Fees, where a library patron can use the donation to pay an overdue fee (but not a lost book or damaged book fee).
Our Meals for a Healthy Heart Class will be this Saturday, March 30th and also Saturday, April 6th. It is a two-part class. We've had 8 people register and that is enough to hold the class! So, we will see those of you who signed up by our deadline of last Saturday!
Anyone can bring in food for the El Paso Food Pantry this month! You don't have to be a regular library patron to come in the library and drop off a donation!
We are doing Food for Fees this month for our patrons that have overdue fees (but not to be used on lost book prices or damaged book prices). Five of us met last Thursday afternoon. Our theme was Switzerland. We had quite a few tasty dishes and we played a little Switzerland trivia. Of course, I forgot to take a picture.
We decided to meet a little earlier next month at 3 pm on Thursday, April 4th. Our theme will be Italian. (We had this theme earlier but had to cancel due to bad weather). Our dishes so far include spaghetti, butternut squash ravioli, and berry tiramisu.
Let us know if you would be interested in joining this group!
The library will be collecting items for the El Paso Food Pantry this month. Anyone can come to the library and give donations. We would like to collect a substantial amount for the members of our local community in need.
If you have an overdue fee, you can use your food donation to pay your overdue fee. We cannot accept donations for lost or damaged book fees.
Items that would really benefit the food pantry include hygiene products (shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, etc.), toilet paper, and laundry soap. Any canned good that is not past its expiration date is also appreciated. However, they currently have quite a supply of canned green beans, canned peas, and canned corn.
