We decided to cancel our presentation tonight (Tuesday, February 12th) with Ken Zurski on his Unremembered book due to the ice/snow/rain weather situation. We do have his book at the library available for checkout and we also have his book, The Wreck of the Columbia. Look for them on the New Adult Materials bookcase right by the front checkout desk. And I will provide a link to Ken's Unremembered blog again.
Today Lyssa (and her friend) made lunch for us librarians. The Cookbook Club was not able to meet this month for Italian night, so Lyssa felt bad about that and decided that the librarians should have their own lunch. So, we all ate shells with cheese and sauce that were delicious and bread with butter. And Ann brought in Valentine's cookies for us, too! I feel very blessed for the kind and thoughtful people that I work with!
Check out Ken Zurski's online blog about people and events that are Unremembered! We think you will find it very interesting!

We haven't had anyone sign up yet for the presentation by local author and radio personality Ken Zurski on his latest book, Unremembered. He recently talked at a neighboring library and was very well received. I hope that we can get a good audience for him here at our library.
I found this article about him if you would like more information.

There is still time to start the AFLY reading program at the library. The program will run until Friday, February 22nd. I have found this a fun way to entertain myself during all the snow days that we have been having. The books present really interesting information in a very engaging way. I think you will find yourself saying, "I never knew that!" It is true that you are never too old to learn something new.
We are pleased to announce that Jenna Smith, University of Illinois Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator & Registered Dietician will be at the library to teach a two part class called Meals for a Healthy Heart. (Click for more information)
