![]() February 25 - March 1 Monday & Tuesday 9:30 am Preschool Story Hour Tuesday 3:15 pm Maker Space Thursday 7 pm RIOT ACT Our book club will discuss our current book and pick up next month's book, When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi. ![]() Toni Tucker, the director of the Ewing Cultural Center started her presentation by saying that Hazle Buck Ewing was one of her very favorite people. What a wonderful sentiment to start the evening out! And after hearing about Hazle's generosity, willingness to help others, her work towards world peace, and her amazing philanthropy I can understand why she would be someone's favorite. Joey won the free raffle that we have for our audience with each adult presentation, a box of candy from the Chocolatier, Inc. in Bloomington. What a great presentation for a young person to attend, to learn about the life of a great lady who truly tried to do good in the world and make it a better place.
Hmm...I better clarify. Not every raffle prize is a box of chocolates, but we have had a free raffle with the audience for something. ![]() This Week at the El Paso District Library (EPDL) Tuesday, Feb 19 - Crochet & Knit Group 4 pm -7 pm - Toni Tucker, director of the Ewing Cultural Center will give a free presentation titled Hazel Buck Ewing: A Life of Faith, Grace, and Integrity at 6:30 pm Thursday, Feb 21 - Adult Coloring 5:30 pm to 7 pm ![]() We decided to cancel our presentation tonight (Tuesday, February 12th) with Ken Zurski on his Unremembered book due to the ice/snow/rain weather situation. We do have his book at the library available for checkout and we also have his book, The Wreck of the Columbia. Look for them on the New Adult Materials bookcase right by the front checkout desk. And I will provide a link to Ken's Unremembered blog again. Today Lyssa (and her friend) made lunch for us librarians. The Cookbook Club was not able to meet this month for Italian night, so Lyssa felt bad about that and decided that the librarians should have their own lunch. So, we all ate shells with cheese and sauce that were delicious and bread with butter. And Ann brought in Valentine's cookies for us, too! I feel very blessed for the kind and thoughtful people that I work with!
