One of our patrons came in today. She had used the KEYRING app on her phone to get her library card barcode on her phone screen and I was able to scan that into our library computing system. She said that she has all her grocery card savings cards on it also and then she does not have to carry all those cards around in her purse. Just wanted to share with those of you who might find this more convenient than having to remember to carry your library card with you.
Great Time at the Pasta Demonstration!
Cindy and her daughter, Maribel showed us all how to make pasta dough and then put it through a pasta machine. The three tables of participants all got to work together in this hands-on presentation to make our own dough and use a pasta machine. Her husband, Gus cooked the pasta we made for us to sample. Cindy also showed us how to make ravioli with a butternut squash filling and it was truly delicious! Cindy showed us many of the kitchen gadgets she has for making different shapes of pasta also. It was a very fun way to spend an evening and learn something new!
Cindy is going to come again on Thursday, January 26th at 6 pm and do this presentation again. The public is welcome to come and learn how to make pasta from Cindy. If have your own pasta machine gathering dust in the cabinet, bring it to the next presentation and Cindy will show you how to use it! Cindy also says families are welcome if the children are mature enough to participate in the activity comfortably. Call the library to register for this fun event! (527-4360)
