Denise Fleming Takes the (Pan)Cake!

January is children’s author Denise Fleming’s birthday.  The 4th grade classes from Centennial have been learning about an author a month.  One of the activities their teachers have planned is a visit to our library to hear a presentation and see some of the books first-hand.  Denise Fleming uses Pulp Painting to create her vibrant art.  To give the class an idea of what the process is like, we made Beetle Bop pancakes using a squeeze bottle and very colorful batter.  Friends of the El Paso Public Library’s Vice- President, Betty Stine, came in to help with the pancakes.

Anyone watching would have a hard time deciding who enjoyed the activity more, the library or the class!
