The 2nd grade classes heard a very fun story about a grumpy grandpa, a toboggan, and a long scarf. After the story, and while they take turns selecting a book to take back to class, each child completes a hidden picture of some cats sledding. If you know a 2nd grader from Jefferson Park, ask them to tell you the story of “The Wild Toboggan Ride”.

During their February visit to the library the 1st grade classes put their listening skills to good use. After we read ”
The Mitten” by Jan Brett from a big book together each class member followed verbal directions given for a color sheet from the book. They did a fantastic job completing the page as directed! The activity was fun for all.

We rustled up a ‘herd’ of cowboys and cowgirls for our western story hour at the end of January. After several stories and some fingerplays, each child made a ‘plaque’ of cowboys riding into the sunset and a western bracelet to take home.
